PMC-S is a new generation control system platform for the Caterpillar
range of Longwall Shearers. Specifically designed for ease of
installation, commissioning and maintenance, PMC-S combines a
flexible distributed field bus system with easily accessible equipment,
utilising state of the art hardware and software technology.
The main components that make up the shearer control system are
shown below:
