ENGINE
Before removing the radiator plug completely, turn it very slowly to relive the presure in the circuit.

HYDRAULIC CIRCUITS
Fluid leaking from a very small hole can be almost invisible yet have sufficient force to penetrate under the skin.
Use a piece of cardboard or wood if you must check for such leaks.
Use the right tools to check the pressure in the citcuits
