Temperature Control Switch:
The temperature control switch is relatively trouble free, however, Should it fail, it must be replaced. If the clutch remains engaged continually, check the sensing bulb of the control switch to see that it: has not been pulled out of the evapo- rator core. The sensing bulb Should be located in the coldest portion of the evaporator core.
Clutch:
The two most common clutch failures are:
- Burned out facings.
- Broken torque Springs.
Both of these failings are usually symptomatic of troubles somewhere else in the system. (Example: A restriction in the condenser will cause excessive head pres- sures, which in turn will overwork the compressor and clutch, eventually causing failure of one or both.) Whenever any of these failures are dis- covered, the clutch must be replaced.
Troubleshooting:
The problems and possible causas for them shown here, are not all the troubles that can be experienced with the air con- ditioning System. The most common problems are Outlined in the following trouble shooting chart In analyzing operational difficulties, it is required that the gauge Sct be connected to the compressor service valve and the sys- tem operated for a sufficient period to balance out or normalize (e. g. to have re- moved the initial heat from the cab area and settled to an average flew rate and pressure
